Research Infrastructure

Large capital projects, including the David Braley Cardio, Vascular and Stroke Research Institute, are overseen by Research Capital and Infrastructure. Infrastructure also looks after smaller requirements like requests for additional research space, renovations and repairs.

The Space Request Form is to be completed by the Director/Manager or Researcher requesting space at, General, Juravinski, St. Peter’s, MUMC or WLMH sites. Please return completed form to: Dorothy Mays at To download the Space Request Form, please click here.

Call for Minor Renovation and/or Repairs

Research Administration provides a funding opportunity for a renovation and/or repair to current research space. These opportunities have resulted in upgrading and improvement of the physical environment and conditions for numerous researchers and teams at all sites.

Available funds are restricted to research infrastructure renovations and repairs within Hamilton Health Sciences space, which may include minor furnishings. The funds are not available for research equipment needs.

A call for applications is issued once a year, usually in the spring. At that time, anyone with concerns regarding the condition of their space is invited to fill out the request form and return it electronically to Dorothy Mays at

Please note that completion of the form does not guarantee approval of the request, as there is limited funding. All applications will be reviewed and prioritized. Funding and scheduling of work will be determined based on urgency of the priority and availability of funds.
After review, all applicants will receive an electronic response indicating where or not their submission request has been approved.
