Pre-commercial Business Development Fund (PBDF) – January 23, 2017

The PBDF focuses on supporting late-stage academic research and early-stage companies developing promising “omics” technology.  The funds provides early-stage financial support to companies and academics to accelerate the progression from research and development to marketable products.  Ontario Genomics welcomes proposals leveraging ‘omics and associated technologies in the proof of principal (validation) phase – successful proposals will have a balance of innovative science and high commercial potential.  Read more…

 Large-Scale Applied Research Project Competition

Genome Canada anticipates launching a Large-Scale Applied Research Project Competition – Genomics and Precision Health in early 2017.  This funding opportunity aims to support projects that demonstrate how genomics-based research can contribute to a more evidence-based approach to health to improve health outcomes and/or enhance the cost-effectiveness of the healthcare system.  Funding available ranges from $2M to $10M over a term of up to four years.  Applicants will be required to apply through regional Genome Centres.  The application process will be comprised of three steps:  (1) Registration, (2) Pre-Application, and (3) Full Application.   Read more…
