INTENT TO APPLY TO HSF:

To facilitate HRS review for the GIA competition, please notify HRS via Catherine Gill Pottruff gillc@mcmaster.ca, of your intention to apply to HSF and indicate GIA, new or renewal as soon as possible.

Grants-in-Aid 2017-2018: Operating funds to support Basic, Clinical, Health Services/Systems, Social/Cultural/Environmental and Population Health:

HRS Internal Deadline: Tuesday August 18, 2016

Agency Deadline:  Thursday September 1, 2016 at 16:00 EDT

 Application Process for GIAs:

You must apply online for Grant-in-Aid (GIA) awards using the Heart and Stroke Foundation’s web-based application system, CIRCUlink  http://hsf.ca/research/en/circulink. The system will not accept late submissions. Please note: a scanned copy of the completed signature page must be uploaded to CIRCUlink; hard copies are no longer required for this competition.

UPDATE FOR 2017-2018:

HSF is offering a specifically targeted competition for Improving Heart Health in Women (one award), to be offered to the highest ranking Grant-in-Aid application within the approved applications. If you wish to be considered for this opportunity, there is a tick box within the application which must be ticked. Applications intended for this opportunity will also be included in the general pool of Grant-In-Aid applications.

Personnel Award Programs 2017-2018:  National New Investigator, Ontario Clinician-Scientist Phase I & II, Ontario Mid-Career Investigator:

Agency Deadline:  Monday September 12, 2016

Application Process for Personnel Awards:

Application forms and Guidelines may be found on the website above. An original copy (including signatures) and a USB stick with a PDF copy of the application form must be mailed/couriered to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Detailed instructions are included in the guidelines documents.

REMINDER – INTERNAL DEADLINE for HRS review:

As with all grant applications per general processes, please submit the following to HRS 2 weeks prior to sponsor deadline for review and institutional signatures:

 

  • Human Ethics, Animal Ethics, Biohazard and Health Physics Final approval letter(s) and most current renewal letter(s) (if available)
  • Grant signature page, with original ink signatures by Grantee and Department Chair

A scanned copy of the above documentation can be forwarded by email or delivered in person to HSC 3H9 where there is a main inbox located at the front of the office.
