CCSRI Research Grants – Abstract Registration and LOI Forms now available

The online abstract and letter of intent (LOI) forms are now available for the upcoming Innovation Grants, Innovation to Impact Grants, and Quality of Life Research Grants competitions sponsored by the Canadian Cancer Society Research Institute.  Please visit the CCSRI website for program and application information www.cancer.ca/research.

 

Innovation Grants: These grants have been created to support unconventional concepts, approaches or methodologies to address problems in cancer research. Budgets awarded may be up to $100,000 per year and a maximum of $200,000 per grant.

Abstract registration deadline: Monday August 15, 2016

Full application deadline: Monday October 3, 2016

Innovation to Impact Grants:

These grants are intended to support the further development of successful findings based on the goals originally explored through a CCSRI Innovation Grant. Therefore, only investigators with a funded CCSRI Innovation Grant are eligible for this program. Budgets awarded may be up to $150,000 per year over a maximum term of three years.

Quality of Life Research Grants

These grants are intended to explore psychological, survivorship, symptom control, supportive care and end-of-life issues, research gaps, needs and opportunities, or models for survivorship care. The grants are meant to accelerate and focus the knowledge gained from scientific findings, in the short or long term, into outcomes that will result in the reduced burden or enhanced quality of life cancer patients in Canada and elsewhere. Budgets awarded may be up to $300,000 over a maximum term of three years.

 

Letter on Intent deadline: Tuesday August 2, 2016

Full Application deadline: Tuesday November 1, 2016

 

Note: the LOI is required part of the selection process. Your LOI will be reviewed for eligibility and results will be communicated in September 2016 regarding your success in the first stage of review.

 

HOW TO APPLY: All application materials must be submitted through the online application system (EGrAMS) by 5p.m. EST on the deadline date. Submissions will not be accepted beyond these times.

 

If you are selected to move forward with a full application, please notify HRS and prepare all draft materials, including a completed and signed HRS Checklist (available here: http://fhs.mcmaster.ca/healthresearch/forms_and_templates.html), for submission to hsreasadm@mcmaster.ca or HSC-3H9 no later than two weeks prior to the final deadline.
