HHS Foundation Gala Raises More Than $540,000 for Medical Research

More than 670 guests attended the Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation’s Raise a Little Health gala on Saturday February 28 at the Hamilton Convention Centre. The event was a tremendous success raising more than $540,000 in support of research at Hamilton Health Sciences.


Proceeds from the event will help fund four key HHS Research projects:

  • A study exploring the rehabilitation of acquired brain injury patients at St. Peter’s Hospital and Regional Rehabilitation Centre;
  • The development of an app at McMaster Children’s Hospital that will support youth with chronic conditions as they transition from pediatric programs into adult care programs;
  • Research at Juravinski Hospital and Cancer Centre exploring new approaches to optimizing the delivery of palliative care for patients with advanced cancer;
  • A study at Hamilton General Hospital seeking to predict silent atrial fibrillation and prevent heart attacks and strokes
